Purpose of Position

The Graphic Designer will assist with designing National and Regional campaigns as well as local store events to elevate the Sportsman’s Warehouse brand. The Graphic Designer will be working closely with the brand manager, buyers, ecommerce team, stores and national field managers. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop creative and engaging marketing materials for print media, web, email, billboards, and social media
  • Assist in the coordinating of marketing campaigns across multiple channels
  • Understand and adhere to brand guidelines
  • Prepares layouts, designs, art work and formats for use in publication and /or exhibition
  • Create mock ups to show visual representation of design proposals
  • Designs and produces graphs, maps, charts, posters, signs and report covers
  • Organizes copy flow and maintains database of all references used in creation of published materials
  • Locate assets to use in creative design using stock image sources, company databases, and outside vendors
  • May handle copyright, reprint, and permission processes
  • May coordinate relationship with vendors; preparing specifications and obtaining estimates for final approval
  • All other duties as assigned


Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design and 5 years professional graphic design experience
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating quality design, strong creativity and artistic skill set
  • Expert in software and technologies including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
  • Expert in photo editing, touchup, and manipulation
  • Experience in print layout design as well as digital advertising including email, web banners and social media design
  • Skilled in typography, color theory, grammar and spelling
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, must be able to present ideas and communicate thought process behind design
  • Ability to understand and adhere to brand guidelines and corporate style
  • Ability to handle large workloads and tight deadlines on projects
  • Knowledge of printing industry methods including print materials, paper types, and pre-press
  • Familiar with delivering print ready products to the printer
  • Time management skills, able to produce quality work efficiently
  • Must be able to positively take direction and receive criticism
  • Ability to understand customer perceptions and design for multiple audiences
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to review designs and catch errors before production

Preferred Skills

  • Experience designing for the outdoor, hunting, fishing industry
  • HTML and CSS coding experience a plus
  • Photography, videography, video editing experience a plus
  • Experience working in a corporate graphic design position

Physical Requirements

  • This position involves a variety of physical activities including:  talking, hearing, sitting, and standing for multiple hours, and repetitive motions.  Visual acuity is required for completing work on computer.
