Description

Purpose of Position: The Firearms Customer Service Representative serves customers by answering inquiries, resolving problems, fulfilling requests, and maintaining the customer profile database, focusing primarily on firearm-related customer needs.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Respond efficiently and accurately to callers
  • Explain possible solutions
  • Ensure all customers feel supported and valued
  • Engage in active listening with callers
  • Confirm/clarify information
  • Diffuse tense situations as needed
  • Build lasting relationships with customers and call center team members based on trust and reliability
  • Utilize software, databases, scripts, and tools appropriately
  • Understand and strive to meet or exceed call center metrics
  • Provide excellent and consistent customer service
  • Make recommendations for products that may better suit customer needs
  • Take part in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of company and position
  • Understand company products, services, and policies
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • All other duties as assigned


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must have a moderate knowledge of firearms
  • Previous firearms experience preferred
  • Exceptional customer service and active listening skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional phone voice
  • Proficient with computers and the ability to type at least 45 WPM
  • Ability to ask probing questions and diffuse tense situations
  • Strong time management skills
  • Adaptability and accountability

 

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • This position is considered sedentary.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop kneel to handle computer equipment
  • The employee may be required to exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity at 20 inches or less due to computer work
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will experience a moderate noise level (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic)
  • Regular attendance is required to perform the duties of this job
