Purpose of Position:

The Allocation Manager leads and develops a team of Allocation Analysts while overseeing merchandise allocation and replenishment strategies across stores and eCommerce. This role drives inventory optimization by ensuring the right products are positioned in the right markets, stores, and channels at the right time to support sales, seasonal relevance, and customer demand. The Allocation Manager partners closely with Merchandising, Demand Planning, Store Operations, and Supply Chain to align inventory strategies with business objectives and continuously improve allocation and replenishment effectiveness.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Allocation Analyst team by establishing priorities, providing direction, and ensuring consistent execution of allocation and replenishment processes.
  • Ensure stores and eCommerce maintain optimal inventory levels to maximize sales, inventory productivity, in-stock performance, and customer experience.
  • Develop allocation and replenishment strategies at the SKU and store level based on assortment plans, seasonal demand, regional needs, store-specific opportunities, inventory targets, and financial objectives.
  • Partner with Demand Planning, Merchandising, Store Operations, and Supply Chain to align inventory flow, assortment, promotional priorities, and business objectives.
  • Guide pre-season, in-season, and post-season allocation analysis to identify regional, seasonal, and store-specific opportunities, mitigate risks, and recommend actions to improve inventory performance.
  • Monitor allocation and replenishment performance, inventory health, and SKU productivity to identify regional, seasonal, and store-level trends, risks, and opportunities that improve business outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain allocation reporting and KPIs to evaluate performance, communicate insights, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for allocation and replenishment processes, tools, reporting, and inventory management practices while supporting team development and cross-functional partnerships.
  • Establish team priorities, manage workload, and drive process improvements to increase efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive retail experience in allocation, replenishment, planning, inventory management, merchandising, retail analytics, or related business functions preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing a team in a retail planning, allocation, replenishment, or inventory management environment preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, merchandising, supply chain, finance, analytics, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Strong understanding of merchandise allocation, replenishment, inventory optimization, retail math, and store-level inventory strategies.
  • Ability to analyze sales, inventory, and financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and recommendations that improve business performance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partners and drive accountability.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with retail planning, allocation, replenishment, or business intelligence systems preferred.
