Description

Position Overview

The Allocation Analyst plays a critical role in driving sales and inventory productivity by managing SKU-level merchandise allocation across all store locations and eCommerce channels. This role ensures inventory is optimized to support sales goals, in-stock performance, and visual presentation standards.

Working cross-functionally with Merchandising, Buying, and Planning teams, the Allocation Analyst helps shape assortment strategies, influence inventory flow, and identify opportunities to maximize overall business performance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute SKU-level allocation strategies aligned with assortment, inventory, and sales plans to support overall business performance
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels across stores and eCommerce to support in-stock performance and customer experience
  • Analyze sales and inventory performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities at the store and product level
  • Conduct pre-season, in-season, and post-season analyses to identify sales opportunities and inventory risks
  • Monitor distribution center (DC) inventory flow and partner with Demand Planning to support timely product replenishment
  • Evaluate results and help refine allocation strategies to improve sales, optimize inventory levels, and reduce stock imbalances
  • Run and maintain reports to monitor sales, inventory performance, and allocation effectiveness
  • Support cross-functional projects and collaborate with Merchandising, Buying, and Planning teams


Requirements

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in retail planning, allocation, merchandising, or a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Data Analytics, Merchandising, or a related field preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, or similar functions)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable decisions
  • High attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Results-driven and self-motivated, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Primarily a sedentary, office-based role with extended periods of sitting
  • Frequent use of computers, phones, and standard office equipment
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, or lifting (up to 10 lbs.)
  • Requires close visual focus for computer-based work
  • Moderate noise level typical of a business office environment
